Goal

To strengthen the technical capacity of farmers, organize and train farmers to meet agro-processor market demand, and improve farmers’ financial capacity.

What we do

Currently, farmers grow chili peppers on small plots, especially during the rainy season. Chili peppers become scarce during the dry season due to the lack of irrigation facilities, explaining the shortage of chili peppers for processing units during certain periods of the year. This project aims to extend the production of chili peppers around the year by means of (solar) irrigation. The project will be implemented by 20 cooperatives and associations of women and men farmers in the Sikasso and Bougouni regions in southern Mali. A total of 3,000 farmers will be directly involved in the project for the production and marketing of chili peppers.
