Goal
- Train young rural men in Nigeria on the safe and effective use of crop protection products
- Improve agricultural productivity by promoting safe pesticide management practices.
- Strengthen the agricultural value chain by encouraging responsible pesticide use.
What We Do
- Provide training opportunities for young rural men on proper knapsack spraying techniques
- Organize training workshops in collaboration with the MARKETS project and CropLife Nigeria
- Promote public awareness and education on the safe and effective use of crop protection products.
Accomplishments
- Conducted six training workshops between 2008 and 2010 in Ebonyi, Kwara, Anambra, Kano, and Benue states
- Trained 180 participants, including contract sprayers, input dealers, lead farmers, and extension agents
- Covered topics such as Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Integrated Pest Management (IPM), safe handling of crop protection products, and sprayer calibration.
